Event: Girls on the Run NYC's Sneaker Soiree

Congratulations to Girls on the Run NYC on a successful Sneaker Soiree, their annual fundraising event. The event brought Julie Rice, co-founder of SoulCycle and Chief Brand Officer of WeWork, and her daughter to speak about the impact Girls on the Run NYC has made in their home and family. There were also some great speeches and facts shared from other participants. Here are some images from that event.

You can find more images cropped by their team here.

Activewear Photoshoot for Devon Beaver Designs

I love shooting campaigns for brands and collaborating directly with designers. Don't get me wrong, I love working with art directors and creative directors, but I appreciate any opportunity to own the creative process from start to finish. I enjoyed working with Devon Beaver to showcase her designs for her 2018 lookbook. Devon created an activewear brand focused on empowerment, diversity, inclusion and comfort. Here are some images from that campaign. I hope you enjoy them as much as Devon does!

A Quick Stop in San Francisco

San Francisco is a gorgeous town. Bora and I visited on a warm spring day. No clouds were in sight. While our time in San Francisco was short, we made sure to make some time to have mission burritos at La Taqueria on Mission Street and stopped by Battery Spencer for some epic views. Here's some images from the start of our California trip. Shooting medium format digital helped a bit too. :)

Are You Using Dating Apps & Sites?

If you're using dating apps/sites and have terrible match/hit rates, let's chat. I'm working on a photography-related research project and I need more people and more data.

What do I need from you?
One 5 minute call for me to learn more about you.
Two 15 minute surveys (one before and one after).
One 30 minute lifestyle photo session with me.

What do you get in return? Hopefully more matches 😂, but if not, you'll at least have updated images to use 😁.

Send me a message or email me at dan@danleephoto.com, if you are interested in participating.

Feel free to share this. Thanks!

The Medium Format Difference

Camera sensor technology has progressed to a point where, for a good chunk of years, digital has surpassed film. The latest full frame cameras boast about having over 15-stops of dynamic range. So why does Dan Lee Photo, along with most commercial studios, shoot some form of medium format digital? Color reproduction. Check out a couple of images below that were shot on our Hasselblad and Fujifilm GFX 50S.

What's exciting is that digital medium format is getting cheaper. You can find digital medium format camera bodies in the portable Fujifilm GFX 50s and Hasselblad X1D selling for only $6,500. (Note: Traditional Digital Medium Format systems like Hasselblad's H series and Phase One's IQ series starts at over $25,000.)

Are you thinking about jumping into digital medium format?
